We are thrilled to share the success of a recent pilot initiative supported by the Refugee Council of Lithuania and IOM Lithuania (MiCenter).
Last week, we witnessed the power of community-led integration through the "Ukrainian Vechornytsi" — a vibrant evening of traditional music, folk dancing, and authentic connection. Organized by a talented team: Yanina (Ukraine) and Lizaveta (Belarus), the event brought together 50 participants to celebrate Ukrainian roots and find strength in solidarity.
Why this matters: At the Refugee Council, we believe that integration is more than just logistics; it is about belonging. Seeing the community lead their own cultural preservation through "intuitive singing" and traditional rituals reminds us that heritage is a vital tool for mental well-being and social cohesion.
We are proud to have provided support for this initiative. It is through these "warm" connections that a truly inclusive Lithuania is built.
