The research recently conducted among the high school Tajik refugee students in Vilnius and Kaunas revealed that almost all of them face the risk of not receiving school certificates because of their weak Lithuanian language level. They might fail the final school exams of the language, which is compulsory for all students of Lithuania. Many of them are motivated and talented students aspiring to study at universities in Lithuania, studying medicine and etc and contribute to society. The lack of Lithuanian skills and the lack of financial resources to cover private tuition fees are big obstacles for these youngsters. We are searching for volunteer teachers, who could help to prepare the motivated group of high school students for Lithuanian language exams.
