This week, from May 26 to 30, the team at the Refugee Council of Lithuania is taking part in a special One-Week Eco Challenge aimed at promoting sustainable habits and raising environmental awareness within our workplace.
Throughout the week, our colleagues will engage in daily eco-conscious activities, including:
• 🌱 Greening our office space
• 🧠 Participating in an eco quiz with prizes
• 🚶♀️ Walking or cycling to work
• ♻️ Exchanging unused items and books
• 📣 Sharing our experiences on social platforms

We’re also encouraging everyone to adopt simple, meaningful habits — such as separating waste, using reusable containers, avoiding unnecessary printing, and spending time in nature without digital distractions.
Together, we believe that small steps can lead to big change.

DAY 1

Two employees brought plants for the office.
DAY 2
On the second day of our Eco Week challenge, our employees took part in an engaging environmental quiz titled “Only the Green Survive!”. Through this interactive activity, participants tested their knowledge on topics such as recycling, sustainable habits, and global ecological practices.
The quiz not only sparked thoughtful reflection on daily environmental choices but also helped raise awareness of pressing sustainability issues in a fun and informative way. Many discovered new facts — like how long a glass bottle takes to decompose or how much water is needed to produce just one kilogram of beef.
To recognize their curiosity and commitment to learning, all participants received eco-friendly prizes. We’re proud to see our team growing more mindful of their ecological footprint — one question at a time!
Let’s continue making green choices together 🌍💚
Eco Challenge – Day 3

Today, some of our team members chose to walk or cycle to work instead of using public transport — even though the weather wasn’t exactly sunny.
It's great to see these small changes in action. It's not just about reducing our environmental impact — it's also about moving more and feeling better.
A friendly spirit of competition is even starting to grow in our team — who will cover the most kilometers this week?
Sometimes all it takes is starting the day a little differently, and suddenly everything feels a bit more vibrant.
Day 4 of Our Eco Challenge: Paper Decluttering Day!

Today at the Refugee Council of Lithuania, we dedicated our efforts to clearing out old shelves and giving new life to unused paper. As part of our week-long Eco Challenge, Day 4 focused on collecting and recycling unnecessary documents and materials.
By sorting through our storage and responsibly disposing of outdated paper, we not only created a more organized office space but also contributed to reducing waste and promoting sustainability.
A clean space = a clear mind
Small actions make a real difference. Feeling inspired? Join the challenge in your own office or community!
DAY 5 As our One-Week Eco Challenge at the Refugee Council of Lithuania comes to a close, our director shares a few words on how this initiative has impacted our team — inspiring each of us to reflect more deeply on our relationship with the environment, and even bringing us closer together as colleagues.
This challenge reminded us that change starts with awareness — and that together, we can make a difference.
