On April 24th, we brought our storytelling journey to a powerful close with an unforgettable evening at the National Martyno Mažvydas Library. This final event was not just a performance—it was a living dialogue between communities.
⠀
Through Playback Theatre, personal refugee stories took center stage, brought to life with empathy, emotion, and immediacy. The room echoed with stories of resilience, identity, and hope—told not just about refugees, but by them.
⠀
🎬 We watched deeply moving video stories.
🎭 We witnessed theatrical performances inspired by participants’ lived experiences.
🔄 We saw audience stories transformed into raw, improvised moments on stage.
🗣 And we came together in open conversation about how sharing our truths can break down stereotypes and build bridges.
⠀
This final event marked the culmination of “Voices of Strength: Refugee Empowerment through Storytelling and Advocacy,” a project funded by the EU through the Open Lithuania Foundation’s “Verta” program.
⠀
Together, we empowered voices that are too often unheard. We built understanding. We shared our humanity.
⠀
💬 Thank you to everyone who joined us, listened, and felt with us. Let’s keep these stories alive. Let’s keep listening.
The event is organized in partnership with Playback Theatre «Vakhtery».
